Why does a Scottish Blackstar feel elated?
You probably don't know me, like me, follow me, infact you probably
may never have heard of me. So why do I feel elated? I suppose it comes
down to a sense of "Gratitude" and feeling thankful not just for all the
new contacts, friends, and opportunities I've created on Academy, but
also for all the obstacles, challenges and lessons learned on here too.
(Some of which have been quite humbling as well.)
I wrote a wee poem to help summarize...
Thank you to my peers, to each and every one of you
Thank you for your input and seeing it from a different point of view
Thank you for the gift to question, to reflect and to ponder
Its only when we take time out
We really appreciate the wonder
Thank you for the daily lessons, the challenges and the fun
Thank you each and every single one of you
for my work is far from done.
Challenges and Obstacles, they help us in our plight
For opportunities are hidden everywhere…
Often visible with hindsight.
Critics come, and critics go
But we should stop and ask, why they think it so
In to our daily lives they do appear
We should spend more time listening but many choose not to hear
We are all a fish in a pond of size
Sometimes it grows before our eyes
But we can grow ourselves from the lessons learned
Why do some still choose to swim against the current?
But first catch your breathe, to get in your flow
One deep breathe and let it go
Energy doesn't start nor stop that is the norm
It merely changes in its form
Stop counting and measuring, comparing the contrast
Let your hair down, and have a blast
Be true to yourself and have the right attitude
For its starts with yourself and paying gratitude.
Forgive and forget, and wipe the slate clean
Unburden your heart, you know what I mean
Be thankful and greatful for all the lessons you've learned
Be supportive and helpful to all those concerned.
Stop and reflect on how you have grown
And be thankful for the errors that many have shown.
The next chapter in your life is about to arrive
Its time to embrace it with passion and drive
Thank and forgive and acknowledge the few
that have helped you in your growth and to become the new you.
Onwards and upwards.
